Vestdavit is growing, and we are now looking to strengthen our team with an Area Sales Manager. Our world leading advanced boat-handling systems are used by navies, coast guards, offshore operators and vessel owners around the world.

You will be responsible for cultivating existing customers and developing relations with new ones in several markets and working on challenging and meaningful projects, travel to new countries, and get the opportunity to meet inspiring people from different cultures and sectors.
Our sales team often have a background as sales engineers, former navy professionals, and maritime specialists who thrive on building long lasting customer relations. Success in this role depends on your ability to identify new opportunities, lead detailed tender projects, manage long sales cycles (some lasting 3–5 years), and build trust with customers in highly regulated markets like defense and offshore.
The Role: Area Sales Manager
You will be responsible for sales and business development across a dedicated territory, handling complex technical enquiries and taking the lead in multi-year sales projects. You will manage the entire sales process, from early engagement with ship designers, yards and navies to technical clarifications, contract negotiations, and handover to project teams.
In addition to managing and cultivating the opportunity pipeline, the Area Sales Manager also acts as a tender project manager – coordinating across departments and ensuring quality throughout the process. You will be the customer's main point of contact throughout the sales process.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and expand sales within your assigned region.
Develop strong relationships with ship owners, operators, shipyards, and designers.
Act as project lead for tender processes – from enquiry to contract signature.
Deliver presentations and respond to detailed technical requirements.
Handle negotiations, pricing, and contract terms.
Attend relevant trade fairs and exhibitions.
Contribute to continuous product improvement and sales strategy.
Your Background
Technical education is beneficial but not required – strong technical understanding is essential.
Practical experience from the maritime industry or similar would be an advantage.
A commercial background combined with engineering insight is ideal.
Prior international sales experience (B2B) is a plus.
Fluent in English; Spanish is an advantage.
Patient, structured, and detail-oriented.
Comfortable working independently and managing long, complex projects.
