Marine Superintendent (MSI)
A good career opportunity where you will be an important support to the vessels and the primary link between vessel management, shore management and our customers.
Main responsibilities and tasks:
You will take the leadership of supporting a portfolio of approximately 6 vessels in key areas of expertise.
You will be responsible for following up on all vetting activities and PSC inspections, ensuring all vessel information databases are continually updated with the latest information. As the Owner’s representative, you will also ensure that all customers are followed up on screenings and other inquiries.
You will take charge and be responsible for planning, conducting, and following up on internal audits and customer inspections for each appointed vessel. Thus, be responsible for following up on non-conformities and observations raised during audits.
Be an advisor responsible for assisting and supporting the vessels with cargo-, nautical and operational issues. Additionally, you will take an important role to contribute to continuous improvement of the Company’s management systems also within safety, security, emergency response and training of personnel.
As a Marine Superintendent you thrive with maintaining an active communication with the ships management team. Together with frequent presence on board this will contribute to trustful and positive relations between sea and shore.
Personal abilities:
You will cooperate closely with vessel management and management ashore. Thus, this position will demand very good interpersonal skills. You have a genuine ability to create a solid and long-term relationship with colleagues and collaboration partners, creating positive cooperating environments.
Education and background:
Relevant maritime education is needed. Experience from similar positions within the tanker segment is an advantage.

The position reports to HSSEQ & Marine Manager and will be a part of a team consisting of three Marine Superintendents. Physical workplace is in Bergen. Travelling must be expected. The Marine Superintendent have the flexibility to plan and manage own travels to large extent.
