NAVTOR is building the next-generation platform for collecting and utilizing sensor data from vessels – and we are looking for you to help shape this journey. As Product Manager – Sensor Data, you will be responsible for defining and owning how we collect, validate, and distribute technical data from vessels in operation. This is a newly established key role with significant influence and a high degree of autonomy, where you get to set the standards for the entire company.

What makes this role unique?

You get to build something from the ground up and own the data landscape for vessel sensor data harvesting, utilization and distribution. You directly impact how the shipping industry handles sustainability, efficiency, and compliance. You will work in a global environment (22 nationalities in Egersund alone), with a short path from idea to execution. 

Key responsibilities

Identify which data is valuable – and how to collect it from vessels. Collaborate with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to make data accessible and usable. Ensure data quality through structure, validation, and documented rules. Contribute to the correct use of data in reporting, analytics, and product development. Act as an active sparring partner for development teams, integrators, and product managers.

What we’re looking for

A technical or maritime background (e.g. marine engineering, automation, IT, or similar). Experience with sensor or machine data from vessels, maritime systems, or data platforms. Understanding of how data flows from ship to shore (API, cloud, edge computing). A structured mindset, with the ability to prioritize and get things done – both short and long term. Fluency in both Norwegian and English.


Location
This position can be based in Bergen or Egersund.
