To support our expansion, we are strengthening our team in Riga. Would you like to bring your seagoing experience ashore and combine hands-on marine operations with quality, safety, and regulatory work across both cargo and offshore sectors? We are looking for a Marine and QA Superintendent who will combine vessel follow-up with QA, HSEQ, and compliance work across the organisation.

The Opportunity

This position is expected to be split approximately equally between marine superintendent duties and QA, HSEQ, and compliance work. You will work closely with the Fleet Manager and QA Manager, with structured training and knowledge transfer.

The marine responsibilities will mainly support the general cargo and container fleet, while the QA responsibilities span the wider organisation, including offshore activities. The exact balance may be adapted to your experience and strengths.

Key Responsibilities

● Follow up the daily operation of assigned vessels together with the Fleet Manager.

● Carry out vessel inspections, with particular attention to deck condition, hatch covers, coatings, mooring equipment, and maintenance.

● Support repairs, yard stays, and dockings, coordinating with shipyards, suppliers, class, and flag states.

● Monitor certificates, surveys, inspections, and statutory requirements.

● Follow up non-conformities, incidents, defects, and corrective actions.

● Develop and improve the Integrated Management System and relevant ISO structures.

● Support audits, MLC inspections, management reviews, training, and compliance with IMO, SOLAS, ISM, and ISPS requirements.

Who We Are Looking For

You are likely a Master Mariner who has sailed as Master, or an experienced Chief Officer ready to move ashore. Previous shore-based experience is useful, but not essential if you have strong operational understanding and a genuine interest in QA, HSEQ, and regulatory work.

We believe you will succeed if you have:

● A Master Mariner qualification or comparable maritime education.

● Seagoing experience as Master or Chief Officer.

● Knowledge of deck operations, vessel documentation, and safe ship operation.

● Practical understanding of ISM, ISPS, MLC, SOLAS, and maritime regulations.

● Interest in QA, HSEQ, audits, and management systems.

● Fluent written and spoken English

Personal qualities:

● Independent, practical, and proactive.

● Take ownership, adapt when priorities change, and work systematically with documentation and follow-up.

● Good communication skills across cultures.

● Enjoy combining operational and administrative responsibilities.
